Spyware and adware are not only a bother, they are a threat to your computer.  These viruses are a serious threat to the information that is stored on your computer such as you bank account.  Aside from the threat to your personal information, the viruses take up space and resources on your computer.

The programs must be removed completely- meaning they should not reoccur when you connect your PC to the Internet.  Prior to reconnecting your PC to the Internet, reset your home pages and browser to “Start”.  Make certain that the host files have not been hijacked and that all web sites should be from your Trusted Sites Zone.

 For further prevention of the reoccurrence of infections from spyware and adware, always check which programs or software you installed.  First, research any programs that you would like to install.  Always keep your PC system patched completely.  This is also very important, it is necessary to always make a disk image backup.  To do this you will need to use a bootable CD or a new partition in your PC system. 

Also, before performing any process on your PC, familiarize yourself with what you are going to do by reading first.  Ask for the help of someone with knowledge if you are unable to do it yourself.  With this other possible problems may be detected and be solved for the best operation of your PC system.
